I was beyond ecstatic when AW Bridal contacted me on collaborating and I knew I wanted to embrace the high Nevada desert regardless of the gown style – All their wedding gowns are a perfect blend of modern, classic and timeless! Another exciting update – I now have a discount code “KatReno15” that you can use throughout the entire AW Bridal site! 🙂 My amazing friend Jen came over to try on the Tammy dress and it fit her so beautifully – it was magical! We had an afternoon that we were both available before she had to leave for a couple trips, so the styled shoot was very short notice!
The very talented Bridget, owner of Awesome Blossom, quickly responded to my last minute order for a bridal bouquet! Awesome Blossom is a wonderful local business specializing in floral design that provides premium floral stylings for weddings, special events, corporate clients and everyday occasions helping to express love through flowers. It was a designer choice bouquet and Bridget knocked it out of the park with a stunning neutral white design! It was the perfect balance between flowers and foliage! I really pictured this session to be inspired by all the Northern Nevada textures.
Since this was a last minute session, we weren’t able to schedule HAMU in time; however, Jen came over right before, I whipped out my curling iron, make-up and did my best on HAMU! On our drive up the wind was picking up like crazy on this late afternoon – that made my heart beat even faster with happiness while thinking about shooting Jens beautiful hair and the gowns bell sleeves/fringes! I wanted to give some of the shots even more of a boho somewhat untraditional color, but still embrace the hues of the environment/sky – I grabbed a second Lack of Color hat, the Cosmic Boater hat in Navy! The gold embellishments on the navy were such a nice touch!
Jen did amazing making it look like a warm summer evening while we were in 30 degree weather. We took a break in the car to warm up – Poor thing, I was freezing in a jacket and she was out there in the beautiful gown! We were shooting quickly, getting so many incredible shots and then going into blue hour! I was able to fit in some black and white Polaroids along with color flash film. I’m pretty sure I was drooling once I saw the developed film! I included some of the film scans at the bottom along with a couple of the B&W Polaroids 🙂 Jen killed it as a model and I couldn’t have imagined the final results any more perfect!
