Raghavi is constantly traveling around the world and currently lives on the East coast. One morning, I woke up late at night with an extra fire to work on my next styled session listed in my journal – an Indian bridal session. I began thinking if I knew any of my friends that would be interested in modeling for me. This is when I reached out to Raghavi after working with her for a tech healthcare company a few years ago. I was so excited when she told me that she was actually in town! We set a date that for that weekend! It was meant to be 🙂 I loved the landscape design, textures and Spanish style architecture at the Steamboat Hot Springs – So I gave them a call and asked if we could shoot the session there!
Her mom came to the session to help with the wardrobe. It was so amazing to learn more about the culture from her and the story behind the lehenga that Raghavi was wearing – She received this from her aunt and her aunt was so excited to see her wear it for the first time! Lehenga is is a three-piece attire consisting of a blouse (choli), a long skirt (lehenga) and a shawl (dupatta). A dupatta was worn historically to symbolize a women’s modesty. Raghavi wore a jaw dropping sky blue lehenga with red and gold detailing all over.
The stunning bridal bouquet was a last minute designers choice by Galena Forest Flowers! I informed them that this was for an Indian bridal session and she knocked it out of the park! It was vibrant and with a garden cascading style! I couldn’t stop photographing the different angles and details of it during the shoot! It was perfect with the landscape of the hot springs and Raghavi’s lehenga! Throughout the session I continued to switch from digital, 35mm and polaroids. It was Raghavi’s first time modeling for a bridal session and she did incredible! We had the best vibes with her mom, my husband and daughter there along with a beautiful Reno sunset. This session is one for the books 🙂
